What Rewinder Blades Do
Slitter rewinder blades slit tissue paper into consumer rolls on rewinding machines. Blade quality feeds straight into finished-roll quality and line efficiency: a dull or burred knife leaves fuzzy edges, dust and width variation. Because every rewinder model takes a different geometry, most mills buy these knives as OEM parts rather than catalogue items.
Material Options from Tool Steel to Carbide
• Top (circular) rewinder blades: 9CrSi, SKD-11/D2, M2/SKH-51, and solid tungsten carbide for the longest intervals between changes.
• Bottom (band) blades: 9CrSi, SKD-11, or inlaid carbide — a carbide strip silver-brazed onto a tough tool steel body, solid and seamless.
• Advanced heat treatment plus mirror grinding gives wear resistance without burrs on the cut edge.
Carbide and inlaid-carbide versions cost more up front but repay themselves on high-speed lines through far longer regrind intervals — we help you calculate the payback for your specific paper grade.
