Tape Slitting Blades: Carbide Knives for Adhesive Tape Converting
Tape slitting blades for adhesive tape converting: SKH-51 and carbide YG10/YG12X/YG15 grades, HRA 89-93, Ra 0.1 finish that resists adhesive build-up, OEM to drawing.
What a Tape Slitting Blade Has to Beat
Tape slitting blades cut transparent stationery tape, electrical tape, cloth tape, double-sided tape and specialty adhesive tapes on tape cutting machines. Adhesive is the enemy: it sticks to the blade face, drags the web and degrades cut quality. That is why edge design, surface smoothness and carbide formulation — not just hardness — decide how a tape knife performs.

Material Choices: HSS and Carbide Grades
Depending on the tape type and machine, blades are made from SKH-51 high speed steel or from tungsten carbide grades YG10, YG12X and YG15. Carbide runs at HRA 89–93 with thickness tolerance ±0.01 mm and inner hole tolerance 0.01–0.04 mm. The formulation is tuned so the blade keeps a sharp edge without becoming brittle enough to chip in service.
The Surface That Rejects Adhesive
• Edge and body polished to Ra 0.1 µm so adhesive does not build up during use.
• Consistent edge geometry for clean, straight cuts across the full reel width.
• High-quality carbide formulation and mature sintering to prevent edge chipping.
• Standard sizes from Φ180×Φ25.4×2 mm up to Φ550×Φ25.4×5 mm, plus Φ610×Φ68.3×4.76 mm for larger stations.

Custom Fit for Your Machine
Tape slitting blades are customized to the machine type and application — outer diameter, bore, thickness and edge profile are all specifiable. Send a drawing or the old blade, and production runs strictly to the design precision.
