Lithium Battery Slitting Blades: Ultrafine Carbide for Electrode Cutting

Lithium battery electrode slitting blades: ultrafine tungsten carbide, thickness ±0.002 mm, HRC 90, edge checked at 200-400x, service life 80,000-300,000 m, OEM sizes.

The Blade in the Battery Production Line

Lithium battery circular cutting blades slit the electrode sheet — lithium iron phosphate (LFP), lithium manganate and cobalt acid chemistries alike — on electrode slitting stations. Edge quality here is unforgiving: burrs on a slit electrode risk separator damage and internal short circuits, so the blade material and its edge finish are safety-critical choices.

Ultrafine Tungsten Carbide, Micron-Level Precision

These blades are made from ultrafine grain tungsten carbide, ground to tolerances that leave almost no room for error:
• Outer diameter D: ±0.015 mm
• Thickness H: ±0.002 mm
• Inner hole: +0.015 to +0.02 mm
• Concentricity: 0.0015 mm; flatness: 0.001 mm
• Hardness: HRC 90 ± 1 (HRA scale equivalent around 89–93)
Edge quality is verified under 200–400× magnification before acceptance, with no visible chipping allowed.

Service Life and Common Sizes

Depending on the electrode material being slit, blade life typically falls between 80,000 and 300,000 meters of cutting. Frequently ordered pairs include top blades φ90×φ60×0.8, φ100×φ65×0.7/1.0, φ110×φ90×1.0 and φ130×φ88×1.0 mm with matching bottom blades from φ60×φ40×5 to φ130×φ95×4.0 mm. Blades are also produced to match common electrode slitting machines from Japanese, Korean and Chinese builders.
