Top Slitter Blades and Circular Dished Knives: Sizes, Steels and Edge Quality

Top slitter blades and circular dished knives for paper, tape and foil: 9CrSi/SKD-11/HSS at HRC 57-64, mirror-polished burr-free edges, stock sizes and OEM options.

Top Blades, Knife Holders and the Slitting Pair

A top slitter blade works together with its knife holder on the upper shaft of a slitter, pairing with a bottom blade to slit paper, adhesive tape, aluminum foil and copper foil. When slitting paper, the goal is to avoid paper dust: the knife must be hard, and the edge must leave the slit web smooth and burr-free.

Steels and Hardness for Blade and Holder

Top slitter blades are normally made from 9CrSi, SKD-11 (D2) or high speed steel, heat treated to HRC 57–64. The knife holder that clamps the blade is typically 65Mn or bearing spring steel (GCr15) at HRC 50–59, so it grips the blade without deforming. Inner hole tolerance of +0.01 to +0.04 mm keeps the blade running true on the holder.

Edge Quality Is the Product

• Mirror polishing on the edge and body cuts friction resistance to a minimum.
• 100% edge inspection guarantees a sharp, burr-free cutting face.
• Dished geometry with a 45° blade angle is the standard configuration.
• Common stock sizes include Φ62×Φ42×1.5, Φ64×Φ40×1, Φ75×Φ45×1, Φ100×Φ75×1, Φ105×Φ70×1.5 and Φ140×Φ95×1 mm.

Custom Edges for Your Web

The cutting edge design decides slitting performance on a given web — single or multi-layer paper, foil laminates and pressure-sensitive tape all behave differently. Thicknesses from 0.8 mm up are produced to order, and OEM batches are welcome with full drawing-level precision.
